We needed to present to executives our numbers on social media throughout our Q1. I researched numbers that made us show how we are utilizing coordinators and managers’ talents as well as where we are going to focus on in the next 3 quarters.
We needed to present to executives which fighters we needed to highlight in the upcoming quarter, it took a lot of research of: 1. Who will be fighting? 2. Who are they fighting against? 3. How much content do they post? 4. What are their views/followings/etc.?
For my Business Communication class, we had to create a business and pitch it to our professor in front of other competition. The goal was to come up with a business that maybe our Oxford community needs or would be highly interested in that will be profitable in exchange to their offer of free property for the first year.
We won first place, and we pitched Rebel Roundup, the first-ever line dancing bar in Oxford. Line-dancing? Isn’t that too niche for a small town. No, and here’s why. The bar scene is Oxford is a big deal, and they are all the same with no defining, unique factors. However, with this specific niche, it will be something that will be completely different for Oxford residents to explore. We also said that we would provide venue rentals and dance classes giving us an extra push. Another way we won was researched our judges based on the bios given and personalized it to each of them so that they felt connected and personalized throughout the pitch.
